So I kinda got lucky on Ebay. Some of you may remember Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad. It was one of the shows trying to muscle in on the success of Power Rangers. The actual show, Gridman, was Tsuburaya productions first non-Ultraman show in a million years, even though Gridman himself looks almost exactly like Ultraman. (Fun note- his Americanized name was Servo).
![]() Anyway, the show (or at least the Americanized version, I have yet to watch the original) is awful. The fucking kids were so faux-ninetiesized, the plots were nonsensical, acting was atrocious, so on. Although it's kinda neat that the badguy was voiced by Tim Curry. To the point- he had buddies that would form on him to make armor. One of those was a grouping of three battle vehicles that could become a big robot. Another- my favorite- was a jet that turned into a fucking dragon robot. Which to me is like saying Tits that expel Crown Royal when squeezed. His name was Drago. And I won him for 5 bucks plus shipping because the person had no idea what they had. Attempting to get the other completely badass robot dude from the show- Xenon (look at how fucking badass this thing is)- I found that the cheapest I could get him for was 100 bucks. In other words, not happening.

Shit, Xenon's going for that much? I should dig mine out of storage. I also have Drago and Servo... hopefully. I think one of Servo's arms may have broken though.

Un-photoshopped, large images of Darkmount (actually Straxus) from the Generations line.
Fucking Straxus. Never thought I'd see the day. Looks pretty fantastic, minus the ankles. Wish his alt-mode was more comic accurate, but I can live with this. If only we could get a reasonably comics-accurate Blaster... Oh hey, MASTERPIECE GRIMLOCK WILL BE RELEASED TO TOYS R US ON JULY 1st. That's next Thursday. There are few toys I'll leap immediately into the fray for. I didn't leap into the fray for Masterpiece Prime, even though that was an incredible toy. This one though... not going to let this one slip by. I know damn well if I do, it'll end up selling out and I'll be looking at people selling it online for almost as much as the Japanese version with murder in my eyes.

Ah, Super Human Samurai. Gridman, whatever. I used to watch that on Saturday morning and I collected quite a few of the toys, including Servo and Drago. I used to have Drago stand in as Mecha Godzilla for my one Godzilla action figure.
But there was one bad guy in the show. He had like blades on his arms, on his tail, and on his face... fond memories of him. When I first got these... not quite braces, but like some sort of metal doohickey hooked up on my bottom jaw that pushed my bottom front teeth forward to keep them from growing funny ((you'd never see it)) my mother got me his toy and one of the hard plastic blades, the one that was his nose I think, fit right between my teeth and that metal thing which wasn't that bad at first but as the day progressed hurt. BAD. He ended up spending a lot of time in my mouth pulling that metal shit back to relieve my teeth and it sort of ruined the metallic paint on that part of his body. But dear god, that toy was like my best friend for a while.

The Samurai Squad toys were fucking fantastic. Whoever designed them needs a medal. The robot figures were a perfect synthesis of Power Ranger zords meets Transformers. Gorgeous transformations...
So hey, remember that ultimate Millennium Falcon Hasbro released a short time ago? Time for the ultimate AT AT. Look at the fucking thing: DAYUM. It's like a work of art.

Reminder: Masterpiece Grimlock is released tomorrow at Toys R Us only. Meaning, get yours pretty much immediately or expect to pay hundreds of dollars on ebay later. Or as it would be in my case, not having it at all.
Oh hay, speaking of get-it-quick-or-never-at-all THE FUCKING SEACONS ARE GETTING RE-RELEASED BY BBTS. And the fucked up thing is that the price is relatively reasonable: 60 bucks. Back in the day, that set would have cost 40 or 50 anyhow. Now, the middle guy'll set you back that much on Ebay alone. Fuck. Need to go shave my legs and start whoring it on the corner again...

MASTERPIECE RODIMUS PRIME.
Very nice. Rodimus was actually my favorite for a while when I was a wee lad (I was easily amused, I guess), and I still have a soft spot for him, even if he was a shitty, shitty leader. The toy looks fucking great in robot mode, though I'm not too impressed with the racing RV panel van mode.

Awesome. Hoping I'll luck out and find a Masterpiece Grimlock for a good price in the dealer room. Not holding my breath though.
